We recently published that CAN customer, The Fundraising Regulator, had chosen Syrenis to support the Fundraising Preference Service (FPS). Fundraising Regulator is now keen to get charities, sector professionals and members of the public to share their feedback on the developments that have been made so far.
FPS is due to launch this summer, and allows individuals to better control the communications they receive from charities. Under stricter data guidelines, charities will need to provide an opt-out option of direct marketing communications, including phone, email, direct mail and text. The ‘Have your Say’ consultation enables people to share their thoughts on the different elements of the FPS.
Gerald Oppenheim, Head of Policy and Communications, Fundraising Regulator, said:
“We are committed to making the FPS’ development an inclusive process, which is why “Have Your Say” is so important. The service’s priority is protecting the public, but we also need the views of the charity sector.
“The service is an important step in rebuilding the public’s trust in the sector, although on its own it is not a ‘silver bullet’. It demands the cooperation and commitment of charities; there is clear progress being made, however there is still a long way to go.” Source: Charity Digital News
