Eager to affect social and economic political policies, CAN is proud to announce their participation in the Social Economy Alliance as a lead partner.
The Alliance, was formally launched at The Social Economy Summit on 25 June, is a network of social sector organisations working together towards the 2015 General Election to ensure social enterprise, social finance and social economics are at the top of the political and media agenda.
Led by Social Enterprise UK, CAN joins other members The Social Investment Forum, The School for Social Entrepreneurs, UnLtd, The Young Foundation, The University of Northampton, Co-operatives UK, Locality, the New Economics Foundation, Impetus - The Private Equity Foundation, Unity Trust Bank, Buzzbnk, the Community Development Finance Association, Supporters Direct, Fusion 21, PM Training, The Welsh Co-operative Centre, HCT Group and Sandwell Community Caring Trust.
On joining the Alliance, Andrew Croft, Chief Executive of CAN said,
“ With the General Election set for 2015 and only a two-year window, this is a really important time to join together to prove that a mainstream social economy is growing rapidly and needs to be recognised and supported by all political parties as they formulate and shape their social and economic policies for the future.”
The Alliance will be housed at the London Head Office of Social Enterprise UK and is continuing to welcome new members.
