How do Childcare Vouchers work?
•Put simply, the childcare voucher scheme enables employees to exchange part of their monthly salary for childcare vouchers.
•This is known as salary sacrifice and the maximum allowed is £243 per month.
•The amount sacrificed is exempt from tax and National Insurance Contributions (NIC) resulting in savings of up to £933 pa per employee.
•Employers are also exempt from their NIC on the amount sacrificed by each employee which reduces their payroll bill.
•Employers for Childcare administer the scheme on behalf of our clients and charge a small fee for doing so, which comes out of the employers NIC savings.
•Employers for Childcare use the fee to fund the work of their charity.
