Social Saturday: ‘One Small Change, One Big Impact’

Michael Sheen with social enterprise products

This year CAN would like to support the message of Social Saturday ‘One Small Change, One Big Impact’ whereby consumers swap an everyday purchase for a social enterprise one.

Social Saturday is about your social enterprise, the work you do and the positive impact you have. It’s also about the social enterprise movement which is changing mind-sets and transforming lives throughout the country. Social Saturday is an opportunity for you to showcase what you do through being part of a nationwide campaign which aims to raise the profile of the sector to a mass audience.

When you buy from a social enterprise you are choosing to spend your money with a business that is giving something back; reinvesting their profits to address the most pressing issues, from homelessness and unemployment to ethical trade and climate change.

At CAN we provide our customers with filter coffee from social enterprise, Old Spike Roastery in all kitchens at our four Mezzanines.

Watch and share this great video below by the Patron of Social Enterprise UK, Michael Sheen to show you how you can make a difference to the issues that matter to you by buying social.

For more social enterprise products and perhaps early Christmas presents, have a look at the Big Issue Shop or browse the Buy Social Directory to find a social enterprise supplier near you.

You don’t have to be a social enterprise to get involved. Spread the word on your social media channels:

If you are a social enterprise, take a look at the Campaign Pack to help you get the most out of Social Saturday and remember that events will be taking place throughout the week, not just on the Saturday.
