Street League Chief Executive appointed as new CAN Trustee

CAN are pleased to announce the appointment of new Trustee, Matt Stevenson-Dodd, Chief Executive of Street League.

The appointment takes immediate effect and will see Matt sit on the boards of The Bright Red Dot Foundation Ltd, Mezzanine 2 Ltd and CAN Mezzanine Limited which cover all of CAN’s charitable activities including charity office space, (CAN Mezzanine) and social impact and investment services (CAN Invest).

Matt is currently the CEO of Street League, the innovative football charity tackling youth unemployement. Prior to Street League, Matt was Chief Executive of Young Enterprise North West and Founder CEO of the multi-award winning ‘Unique Social Enterprise’ in Newark. See Matt's biography here.

Of joining the boards, Matt says,

"I am delighted to have been appointed to the Board of CAN and look forward to bringing my skills and experience as a social entrepreneur and Third Sector CEO.

It is a great time to join CAN's Board given the excellent growth Andrew (Croft, Chief Executive) and the team have achieved over the past few years. I am particularly interested in how the organisation can now build on this growth, focussing and articulating a clear message to deliver their first class service to more Third Sector organisations."

Original co-Founder of The Bright Red Dot Foundation, Helen Taylor-Thompson, OBE, FRSA will step down as Chair but will remain a Trustee for all three boards. An event to mark CAN’s fifteen years and celebrate Helen’s long-standing affiliation with the charity is planned for later this year.

Incumbent trustee, Robin Pauley, takes up the position of Chair across all three boards. Robin joined the Trustee boards for CAN in 2008, was BT’s President of European Affairs and was instrumental in establishing  the Financial Times Deutschland, which launched successfully in January 2000.
